Description
Our dream catchers are made with naturally grown, foraged and resourced materials, often through a barter trade. They are wood hoops wrapped in deer leather that died and was processed with honor. Glass, clay and wooden beads adorn the web and feathers, beads and bone dangle from the bottom. Each turn of the leather around the wooden hoop is filled with prayers of healing, love and good intention. Dream catchers enjoy a long Native American tradition, likely originating with the Ojibwe people and spreading to most North American tribes. Oral tradition teaches us that they are to be hung above the bed to filter out bad dreams and spirits and welcome the good and comforting. But archeological evidence suggests these were also hung over the dwelling entry way.
