Longshadows Ranch is grateful to share that we received a $10,000 Native-Led Initiative grant from the Oklahoma City Community Foundation earlier this year.
This flexible support has helped Longshadows Ranch strengthen the infrastructure and resources needed to carry out our educational, agricultural, and community-based programming. Funds from the grant have supported practical investments in equipment, transportation, garden supplies, livestock, and livestock supplies.
To date, this support has helped Longshadows Ranch purchase a tractor, an additional vehicle, garden materials, livestock, and supplies needed to care for animals and support hands-on learning at the ranch.
These investments are an important part of building long-term capacity. At Longshadows Ranch, our work is rooted in helping youth, young adults, families, and community members reconnect with practical skills, food production, Cherokee lifeways, agriculture, and self-sufficiency. In order to offer meaningful hands-on learning, the ranch needs the tools, equipment, animals, transportation, and supplies that make those experiences possible.
The Native-Led Initiative grant has helped strengthen the foundation beneath that work.
